About Us

When​ ​David​ ​Wilkenfeld​ ​started​ ​PromGirl,​ ​e-commerce​ ​was​ ​in​ ​its​ ​infancy,​ ​and​ ​buying​ ​anything online​ ​(let​ ​alone​ ​a​ ​dress)​ ​was​ ​a​ ​foreign​ ​concept​ ​for​ ​many.​ ​As​ ​the​ ​world​ ​watched​ ​the​ ​“dot​ ​com” crash​ ​of​ ​the​ ​early​ ​2000s,​ ​David​ ​saw​ ​an​ ​opportunity:​ ​bring​ ​teen​ ​special​-​occasion​ ​fashion selections​ ​to​ ​a​ ​new​ ​level​ ​of​ ​choice​ ​and​ ​sophistication,​ ​and​ ​do​ ​so​ ​online.

That’s​ ​when​ ​PromGirl.com​ ​was​ ​born.​ ​We​ ​shipped​ ​our​ ​first​ ​dresses​ ​for​ ​the​ ​1999​ ​prom​ ​season and​ ​soon​ ​realized​ ​that​ ​there​ ​was​ ​a​ ​need​ ​for​ ​women​ ​of​ ​all​ ​ages​ ​to​ ​have​ ​access​ ​to​ ​the​ ​top​ ​special-occasion​ ​fashions.​ ​SimplyDresses.com​ ​launched​ ​shortly​ ​after​ ​to​ ​bring​ ​the​ ​same​ ​level​ ​of​ ​choice​ ​and sophistication, ​to​ ​women​ ​of​ ​all​ ​ages.

More​ ​than​ ​a​ ​million​ ​dresses​ ​later,​ ​our​ ​mission​ ​remains​ ​the​ ​same:​ ​give​ ​people​ ​access​ ​to​ ​the​ ​top special​-​occasion​ ​dresses​ ​and​ ​offer​ ​them​ ​online.​ ​We​ ​are​ ​headquartered​ ​​in​ ​Middletown,​ ​Delaware​ with operations in ​North​ ​Bergen,​ ​New​ ​Jersey.
